Coastal Garden looking out above Castor Bay

Site Transformation

The softscaping design features a mix of coastal and subtropical planting, with hardy species chosen to thrive in the exposed conditions of wind, sun, and shade. Large specimen trees were included to provide immediate impact and privacy from neighbouring properties.

Layered textures, lush pool landscaping, and framed coastal views complete the outdoor space. This boutique residential garden was proudly featured in the 2024 Auckland Garden DesignFest and now doubles as luxury coastal accommodation.

The Plant Palette

Perched above Castor Bay Beach, this coastal garden was designed for a contemporary new build with sweeping views of the Hauraki Gulf. The brief called for an inviting entrance and a planting scheme that would soften the home's bold architecture while enhancing its striking first impression.
