Site Transformation

Originally designed for a new build in 2022, this garden now showcases an Aotearoa-centric planting scheme.

Structural NZ natives such as Hebes, Phormium, and Astelia are interspersed with coastal-tolerant perennials including Limonium 'Purple Parachute', Verbena Bonariensis, and Salvia Leucantha.

Project Plan Image

The Plan

A series of sweeping curves creates a paved space that guides you through the garden, leading to a seating area nestled amongst nature, and a raised oval lawn for afternoon cricket or enjoying the summer sun.

The Plant Palette

Given its seaside location, we aimed to design the garden with a naturalistic and earthy feel, using a plant palette that was both coastal tolerant and rich in seasonal flowering perennials.
